CASE INSENSITIVE UNIQUE ROWS IN PENTAHO

Today’s blog is about CASE INSENSITIVE UNIQUE ROWS IN PENTAHO i.e. whether a string is uppercase or lowercase in which we try to overcome this particular issue using Pentaho’s data integration tool KETTLE.

The following steps will give you a brief overview of how things are done.

1.Initially, we took three sample data and summed it up to a dummy step. So we have all the data from different sources at one common place now.

The following screenshot shows the summed up data.

2.Secondly, we take in a Unique Rows step where we have taken the input from the previous step and in the Ignore case tab we have picked ‘Y’. This suggests you have allowed case insensitivity.Previewing the data we have the following screenshot.

So finally the output shows a unique number of records with case insensitive data also coming into the picture.
